Q + A

What is the dress code?

The dress code is Black Tie Optional (Garden Formal). Gentlemen please wear a tuxedo or dark suit. Ladies, remember this is a backyard wedding (there will be grass)! We encourage block heels. Our cocktail hour and reception will take place outdoors, please remember that New England weather can adjust throughout the day. We recommend bringing a shawl or something to keep warm in the evening.

Is there a hotel block?

Yes! We’ve reserved a hotel block for our guests at The Lloyd Stamford, with a special rate for our wedding weekend. If you choose to stay elsewhere, please note that transportation will only be provided to and from The Lloyd. Please see the 'Travel' tab for more details.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Please plan to arrive at St. John's no later than 1:45pm so we can get everyone settled before the ceremony starts promptly at 2pm. There’s plenty of parking available behind the church.

What should I expect after the ceremony?

After the ceremony, we have what some affectionately call the 'Catholic Gap,' where there's a bit of time before the reception kicks off. During this gap, we encourage our guests to take a short drive (transportation provided) into town and enjoy a drink, coffee, or snack. Check out the “Things to do” tab for our favorite spots! You’re also welcome to use the provided transportation to go back to the hotel to rest and recharge.

Will transportation be provided?

Yes! After the ceremony, buses will take guests either into town or to the hotel for a 2-hour break before the reception. At 4:45pm, buses will then bring everyone to the Briganti residence for cocktail hour and reception. For those driving, parking is available behind St. John’s Church. At the end of the evening, a valet service will be available to return guests to their cars at the church. If you choose to drive, please carpool if possible. Buses will be available to return guests to the hotel after the reception.

Can I bring my child?

We respectfully ask that this be an adult-only event. While we love your kiddos, we want you to enjoy yourselves without worry! Consider it a night off for you to relax, savor that extra glass of wine, and let loose on the dance floor!
